Mike Milota from the College of Forestry Wood Science and Engineering has provided these two files below. They make up a model for lumber dry kiln. The kiln configuration and a drying schedule can be input and the code in the Excel file will simulate drying lumber to the specified MC or for the specified time.
When you click on the Excel file it will either open in your browser and you will be asked to open or download.
Select open to run immediately.
OR
Select save and download both files to the same directory. Open the Excel file. Links in the Excel file will open and access the Word file. The download is good for 90 days, after which the files must be downloaded again.
With either method, macros need to be enabled. In Excel 2003, select Tools-Macro-Security-“Medium”. In Excel 2007 or 2010, select File-Options-Trust Center-Trust Center Settings-Macro Settings-“Disable all macros with notification”. When you open any version, you will need to reply to the security warning and allow the macros to run (a new window in Excel 2003, or at the top of the screen in Excel 2007 or 2010).
