DescriptionAs a Boiler Operator I, you will operate boilers and / or kilns in an efficient and safe manner, responsibilities may include reading instruments and gauges to identify problems. Maintain appropriate records and documentation (environmental, outputs, maintenance, and tolerances). Oversee and maintain boiler equipment – including monitoring operations and mixing needed chemicals to generate steam for dry kilns. Equipment maintenance, including washing, greasing and other maintenance functions.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS DEMONSTRATED:Possesses an understanding of boiler operation and maintenance and can communicate across departments about boiler operations and associated impacts of boiler and/or kiln operations. Basic understanding of environmental regulations associated with kilns (if applicable), boilers, steam and air/fuel mixtures for boilers. Basic understanding of production flow and role boiler/kilns plays in overall plant/complex operations.
JOB COMPLEXITY:Performs daily responsibilities, including maintenance and operations of boilers but follows directions of boiler lead or boiler supervisor. Rotate shifts with other operators. May be training to operate the Powerhouse .
