Boxed-heart Splits in 4/4 Douglas Fir
« on: January 08, 2013, 09:57:54 PM »
We are seeing an increase in Boxed-heart splits in our 4/4 Douglas fir and I know it is extremely hard to prevent this type of defect, but was wondering if anyone out there has come up with a method of diminishing the chances of this happening. We are using a standard 80 hour schedule with an ideal target moisture content of 18%-19%.
